
Alisher Akhmedjonov

In his role as the CalUMS-VA Academic Dean, Dr. Alisher Akhmedjonov is responsible for all the academic affairs at CALUMS-VA, including their instructional programs, assessments, and teaching faculty. He communicates with program chairs and faculty regarding academic policy and regulations. He has extensive experience in teaching and educational areas. He has been with the school as a faculty member since 2012 and as Academic Dean since 2017.
Dr. Akhmedjonov received his Master of Arts in Economics from the University of San Francisco. He received his PhD in Policy Analysis from the RAND Graduate School in 2010. Dr. Akhmedjonov’s teaching interests include economics, statistics, and project management. He has been published widely, including in Applied Economics, Economic Modelling, Economics Letters, Applied Economics Letters, and Eastern European Economics. Dr. Akhmedjonov presented his research at various international conferences, including the Eurasia Business and Economics Society 2011 Conference in Istanbul, and is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Economics and Business Research.
